2026-07-21 Company name, registration and new products
We updated our legal entity name and country of registration, and added Pixelmatic and SnappyPDF to our policies.
On 21 July, 2026, we made the following changes to our terms and policies:
- Our legal entity name changed to Hoot Originals Limited. Previous references to "Hoot Originals (Pty) Ltd" have been updated throughout.
- We are now registered in England and Wales under company number 16385025, rather than in South Africa. Our registered office and company number now appear in the Terms of Service, the Privacy policy and in the site footer. The Terms of Service and Privacy policy have been updated to reflect the law that applies to us, including which authorities we respond to for data requests and preservation requests.
- We added Pixelmatic (pixelmatic.co) and SnappyPDF (snappypdf.co) to the list of products covered by our policies, and published subprocessor lists for Pixelmatic and SnappyPDF.
- We added Hetzner (application hosting, Germany) to the XformMedia, Pixelmatic and SnappyPDF subprocessor lists, Cloudflare to the SnappyPDF list, and Sentry to the Pixelmatic and SnappyPDF lists.
- XformMedia payments are now processed by Stripe. Lemonsqueezy has been removed from the XformMedia subprocessor list.
- Amazon Web Services and Linode no longer process personal data for XformMedia or PixelPaper and have been removed from their subprocessor lists. PixelPaper payments are now processed by Stripe rather than Paddle, and its application servers are hosted by Hetzner in Germany.
- Our Taxes policy has been rewritten. We are not currently registered to collect sales tax or VAT in any jurisdiction, as our turnover is below the registration threshold in every country where we have customers. No tax line item is added to any invoice. The previous lists of US states, EU countries and Canadian provinces have been removed, as we do not collect in them; we will update this page before we begin collecting anywhere.
